Our Story.

Located in the picturesque Canungra valley, just 15 minutes from Beaudesert Racetrack, 45 minutes from the Gold Coast Turf Club and an hour from Eagle Farm and Doomben, Fenwick Farm provides bespoke thoroughbred breaking and pretraining programmes utilising state-of-the-art facilities tailored specifically to each horse’s individual needs.  Our breaking and pretraining programmes place great emphasis not only on the health and fitness of your horse, but also on their mind and attitude to ensure your horse embraces life in racing stables and flourishes throughout their career.

Fenwick Farm was established in 2019 and whilst some faces have changed over the years, our ethos of ‘take the time it takes’ has remained true to the legacy of founding partner and master horseman Greg Bennett.  Our awesomely talented team of breakers and educators are fortunate to be beneficiaries of years of experience and wisdom imparted by Greg – the original ‘horse whisperer’ – who in turn continue to deliver an unrivalled quality of training in keeping with ‘The Greg Bennett Way’.  Fenwick Farm’s reputation to this day continues to be synonymous with the highest calibre of juvenile racing graduates that are ready to take on the rigours and pressures of life in a racing stable, in turn rewarding our valued clients the opportunity to enjoy the thrill that racehorse ownership offers.

Founding owners Amanda and Peter Lowry continue to operate Fenwick Farm in partnership with Greg’s protégé and successor, Scott Brennan.  Scott is the son of racehorse trainer Peter Brennan, and now a trainer in his own right having earned his stripes in the stables of John Hawkes, Peter Moody, Kelso Wood, Rick Hore-Lacy and John Size prior to becoming Greg Bennett’s understudy for more than 5 years.  Together, Amanda, Peter and Scott form a formidable team boasting decades of experience in their respective professional fields of proven horsemanship and savvy business management.  Temper this with a shared ‘family values’ culture that attracts to Fenwick Farm some of the best equine breakers, riders and handlers that are committed to providing our horses with the highest quality of care and attention and you have a winning combination of talent focused on creating the turf champions of the future.

Fenwick Farm relocated its operations to a modern, purpose-built equine training facility in 2025.  Whilst the move was only 10 minutes from where it all began for Fenwick Farm, our new home comes complete with the highest quality amenities to continue to provide our clients and their horses with an unrivalled benchmark for breaking in and pretraining programmes.  The great news is that we now have the added bonus of secure, well-appointed paddocks for extended spelling breaks in a relaxed country environment.  And for horses that require short freshen ups or just a change of pace and scenery, our new property boasts over 30 acres of undulating bush trails within the bounds of our property.  Perfect to relax, refresh and reinvigorate your horse mentally and physically.

Despite Fenwick Farm being boutique in terms of the number of young horses passing through our gates each season, our honour roll speaks for itself with year after year of exciting graduates impressing at the track including
